I work ONLY with top notch brands, and refuse to install any brands with a history of poor quality, performance, or customer service. I offer both full AND partial new roof installs - whichever makes the most sense for your project.

Yes - I will install the shingle of your choice! But there are some brands out there that I will NOT install due to poor performance or substandard product. I cannot put my reputation on the line for a poor quality shingle brand.

FAQ: "How can you be so much cheaper than other roofing companies?"
(I am on average $3k-$7k cheaper than most of my competition).
The answer is simple - a better, more streamlined, business model.
The most expensive part of any roof replacement is the labor (and the profit for the company on top) NOT the actual roof itself. It's not uncommon for a $5k roof to actually cost closer to $15-$20k total to install.
The actual roof materials needed for the job are actually quite affordable for most households. But installing a new roof (and tearing off the old one) is HARD back breaking work, and is also usually done at heights.
Most crews hire 4-8 guys and have to provide them all with insurance, worker's comp, tools, trucks, and more. Also only 2 of these guys may be actual roofers, the others may just be laborers. These expenses add up! Added to the profit margin for the company, these make up MOST of your roof replacement bill.
Usually the only way for a roofing company to earn more money is by 1) charging you MORE, or 2) cutting corners and using cheaper materials.

All Materials Delivered to Ground Level
A lot of roofing companies will have the delivery truck load up piles of shingles directly on your roof. This is BAD for your roof AND your shingles.
As a former Home Inspector, I understand that unnecessary, unbalanced loads on your roof can have a negative impact on the life of your home.
Your home & roof are designed to evenly distribute the weight of your roof materials across your entire home. But adding an additional 6000 lbs of weight in one area, or across a couple areas puts un-needed strain on the load bearing capacity of your house.
Did you know your new shingles can weigh as much as 3 tons (6,000 lbs) or more?And often times your new shingles are piled up in stacks, bent over the ridge of your roof. Bundles of shingles are meant to be kept straight and flat. Bending the shingle over the roof ridge can actually cause micro cracks & tears in the shingle material, which can potentially lead to a future roof leak.

The VANGUARD Difference - Your roof materials will be delivered to ground level and brought up to your roof a few bundles at a time. This allows me to store them straight & flat at ground level, AND reduce the additional load on your roof system.
Reduced Damage During Install
A typical roofing crew will consist of 4-8 guys up on a roof (800-1600 lbs). And on top of the weight of the roofing materials delivered to the roof (2-3 tons!) like mentioned above, is a lot of extra weight to the roof!
Also, the amount of foot traffic during the install itself on your roof across your new roof can be a little insane.
A little known fact is that because of these 2 things, your roof will not be in pristine condition at the end of the install. In fact, most of the early aging of a roof can be attributed to the damage inflicted by the roofing crew during the initial install.
Also as a former Home Inspector, I've seen that some of the most common roof leaks are from common installation methods, such as nailing a 2x4 directly through the shingles on steep roofs. Methods like this can result in an early failure of your roof system.

Also I use non-invasive methods such as anchoring, roof jacks and repelling, along with roof ladders that allow me to work on almost any pitch of roof without damaging your new shingles.

Scheduling Your Roof Replacement

2) If you like my prices, Book an Appt > to interview me & see if I am the right contractor for your project.
3) At your appt I will inspect your roof, and give you a firm quote and scope of work (with real numbers broken down line-by-line)
4) We schedule your Roof Replacement ASAP! (usually within 1 week)
Your Roof Replacement
1) The day before - materials & dumpster will start arriving to your house
2) Roof Replacement - I tear off the old roof, reinforce your decking, apply underlayment, ice & water shield, drip edge, gutter apron, & roof covering, then clean up the job site using a magnetic nail gathering system (this process takes 1-3 days depending on the size/complexity/slope of the roof, and is done in sections so no portion of the roof is left uncovered).
3) Last Day or Day after - Dumpster picked up & all debris hauled away.
After Install
1) Enjoy the peace of mind knowing that your home and your family are protected by up to 4 layers of protection.
2) If you have any issues with the performance of the roof system itself, your manufacturers warranty will have you covered.
3) If you have any issues from installation issues, I 100% stand behind my install and will make sure it is repaired for up to 5 yrs.

What do you charge for materials?
All materials are priced at our cost. We DO NOT upsell any materials.We work with you to choose the best shingles & materials for your roof, without worrying about how much we're earning from the 'sale'. Feel free to check our receipts!The cost of materials for your roof will vary based on what items are needed to meet/exceed code standard for your roof, what damage is present, brand and availability of roofing systems, and your color/durability preferences.Please book a free appointment to get an on-site estimate!
Can I buy my own shingles/materials?
Yes - you may purchase your own materials directly if you choose to. But I ask that you wait until after your appt to make your order. There are some brands of shingles that I will refuse to install due to poor performance or substandard quality.Some shingle manufacturers have good marketing teams... but not very good products. We can help you decide what's best for your roof without being biased! We DO NOT upsell roofing materials.In fact if ordered through me, I may be able to get you the materials at my contractor rate, depending on brand, availability, and delivery options.
Why do you offer discounted prices?
My business model is very different than most roofing companies out there! I simply offer a more streamlined method than most of my competitors & can operate with much lower overhead - which in turn means more affordable prices for you!I work as a solo asphalt roof specialist, and do not employ a full crew. There are MANY advantages to this.The most expensive part of any roof replacement is the labor. If you look at a typical $15k roof replacement, around $5-6k will be materials and the other $9-10k will be labor. This is because they have a crew of 5-10 guys to pay, plus all required insurance, trucks, tools, & more to back that crew; plus there will be a portion reserved as a profit margin so the company can make money. Because I'm not trying to field a full crew, I can afford to provide the best quality shingles & materials at 0% markup, and am motivated to provide a high quality install rather than cutting corners to save a buck.As a former home inspector, I know what a good roof should look like. And as a former private investigator, I provide a high level of attention to detail. And as a roofing contractor I will deliver a higher quality roof than most, while offering one of the best prices around.You get a cheaper price & I get to focus on building a better roof without answering to a boss constantly pushing the crew to finish up and move on to the next project. Do you install 2nd layer of shingles?
No - I will not install a 2nd layer of shingles on your roof. My prices are already cost effective enough that only installing a 2nd layer of shingles to save on re-roof costs doesn't really make sense.Also as a former Home Inspector, there are a lot of issues that arise with this. There are weight concerns, and opportunities for damage to remain hidden underneath. It can void some roof warranties, and doesn't really provide you the extra protection you think it will.The 2nd layer will also usually have a shorter life span, and it will likely be even more expensive later to remove both layers to replace your roof properly.
